Privacy notice
Last updated: October 2026
This notice explains what happens to the information you send me through this website. I've kept it short and in plain English.
Who I am
This website is run by Alex Penrose, trading as Cove Web Studio, a sole trader based in Cornwall, UK. I am responsible for looking after your information (the "data controller").
You can contact me about anything in this notice at information@coveweb.co.uk or on 07861 198190.
What I collect
When you fill in the contact form, I receive:
- your name
- your business name and type of business
- your phone number and email address
- anything you write in your message
If you phone or email me directly, I'll have your number or email address and whatever you tell me.
Why I collect it
I only use your details to reply to your enquiry and, if you decide to work with me, to provide your website and care plan. I will never sell your details, share them for marketing, or add you to a mailing list without asking.
The legal basis for this is "legitimate interests" (replying to a message you've chosen to send me) and, if you become a client, "contract" (doing the work we've agreed).
Who else sees it
The contact form is handled by Formspree, a form service that passes your message on to my email inbox. Formspree is based in the United States and stores the messages it handles. My email is provided by [your email provider]. Both act only on my instructions.
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which may keep basic technical logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the site secure. This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't go any further: deleted within 12 months.
- Clients: kept while we work together, then for up to 6 years after, because HMRC requires me to keep business records for that long.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time to:
- see the information I hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information
Just email information@coveweb.co.uk and I'll respond within one month. There's no charge.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please get in touch with me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
